I would recommend that this restaurant is avoided. Our group has spent five days in Ypres and at no point have we encountered the issues we faced here.
The most important issue, that other reviewers have also alluded to, is related to payment at the end of the evening. As a large group, we asked to split the bill and pay for our meals separately (not uncommon in Belgium and something we had done throughout the week), however the restaurant refused point blank to do this and were insistent that whilst this would be possible for cash, the same could not be done for card. I suspect this is for one of two reasons 1. The restaurant does not want to pay multiple card charges or 2. The restaurant would prefer all customers to pay via cash (make your own tax related conclusions here). This was not made clear at the beginning of the evening and when asked about this the member of staff became visibly agitated and simply said 'our restaurant, our rules' and walked away from the table.
Nevertheless, this was not the only complaint from the evening. The service was slow and disjointed with no acknowledgement or recognition of this. Furthermore, we have multiple issues with the food. Overall, the food was poor, the sauces were very heavy on cream and the meat served with the meals was poor quality. In addition, the menu clearly states that each meal came with either fries or pasta but our group of 5 were served 3 small bowls, upon questioning this the member of staff dismissively pointed at the bowl and said "that is for two", which is OK if that is how things are served in their restaurant but the communication from the staff was, again, poor.
Quite simply, if you are in Ypres and looking for value for money, good food, good service and a pleasant evening then there are many establishments to choose from but this is not one of them.
