First of all, it's a nice house in a nice neighborhood, there's plenty to do in the surrounding and the people we spoke from the house were very kind. By very kind I mean when we had a problem at 1 'o clock and gave a call, he insisted to come all the way from Brussels at 1 'o clock (an hour of driving), to fix the problem (which wasn't necessary eventually), this wasn't the only thing he did and altogether this gave a warm and welcome feeling. The house, jacuzzi and the pool were clean and the rooms were big enough to fit 16 people.
Everything was fine, until after we left. The deposit did not come back as promised, which gives a sour taste. Not only were prices extremely expensive (I completely understand you want back your money for the gas, water and light, but overcharging guests on this part for your own profit seems odd to me). By overcharging I mean up to triple the prices companies charge. We did the recalculations, by their overpriced standards, on the prices they sent and it was still off by over a €100,-. We asked to do the recalculations and a couple of things showed up which were never mentioned online (garbage costs) or never used (wood costs??). This all feels like a simple thing to fix but we feel like there's not a lot of willingness to co-operate, we had to get help from Booking.com to get the money back, and up to this point we haven't gotten our money back.
If not for this ending, for the house and the host, I would have given a straight 9. But the rating is for the complete experience and having to communicate like this for multiple weeks is getting increasingly frustrating and in my opinion unnecessary.
