In my effort to try every copy shop in Leuven at least once, I had already been to Alpha Copy in the past to get some printing done. The overall quality of the print was very good, but the price had me walking out, doing some mental math, and walking back in with questions. I didn't feel like 20 pages should have cost me the equivalent of a kidney, but that was apparently what they charged. My advice is: check the pricing before you commit.
Today I thought it was time for Alpha Copy's redemption arc, but it was to no avail.
I went back, thinking: "printing is expensive, but what about scanning?". Turns out everyone misunderstood, because although my documents got scanned, I unfortunately got scammed. So what happened? The grumpy guy at the counter didn't really want to help me (I noticed), but when my scans weren't showing up on the computer, he had to (sorry, dude). We scanned my 4 documents together, and I paid €3,50 ( + 0,20 because I paid by card) for... those 4 scans. Almost €0,87 per scan. Again, I walked out and then decided to go back in. Their pricing was €0,50 per scan, and it turns out the grumpy man also charged me for the scans that didn't show up on the computer. He charged me for things he knew I never received. That's one way to do business, I guess.
When I confronted another employee, he very quickly handed over the difference (€1,50) without asking any questions, which makes me feel like they don't care and know they sometimes scam people and also, they don't really need €3,50 for 4 scans, €2 is enough. Also, they didn't apologise which is probably bad karma.
Long story short, TL;DR: bad service, overpriced in general, pay extra to use your credit card, they overcharged me
